Cleaning your Medication Delivery System (HFA Inhalers)

To make sure you get the right amount of medicine when you use your inhaler, it’s important to use it correctly and keep it clean. Not cleaning your HFA inhaler can lead to problems. Failure to clean your HFA inhaler can result in buildup that can block your medication from reaching your lungs. Learn how to clean your HFA inhaler correctly.

Each HFA inhaler has specific cleaning instructions for the plastic actuator / mouthpiece to prevent the build blockage. HFA inhalers must stay dry. Never use the “Float test” to check the amount of medicine left in the inhaler.
