Effects Fluticasone is an anti-inflammatory component and Salmeterol treats constriction of the airways. Works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing, also used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It is used to prevent symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath caused by asthma it also works by reducing swelling of the airways in the lungs to make breathing easier.
Side Effects Blood pressure, change in heart rate, and an irregular heartbeat, increased risk of osteoporosis, cataracts, and glaucoma, rash, swelling of the face, mouth, and tongue, chest pain. chest pain, fast or pounding heartbeats, tremors, shaking, or restless feeling; skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, or insomnia; weakness, tired feeling, nausea, vomiting, feeling like you might pass out, blurred vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights, difficulty speaking, sore or irritated throat and painful white patches in the mouth or throat
Precautions Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to any other medications, milk protein, or any foods, what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking, or if you are pregnant. If you are taking an oral corticosteroid or an inhaled corticosteroid, if you have weak bones, if you have a fungal, bacterial, or parasitic infection; a viral infection if you have a history of diabetes, eye problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, liver problems, low blood potassium levels, high blood acid levels, nervous system problems, seizures, thyroid problems, or an adrenal gland tumor then tell your doctor. Talk with your healthcare provider prior to using the Flovent Diskus if you have: Recently had nasal surgery, Sores or injury to the inside of your nose, tuberculosis, herpes, or any other infections, any allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives or if you are pregnant.
